Born and raised in Newfoundland, Canada.

Worked collectively with both provincial and federal levels of Government, receiving A Public Service Award of Excellence from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. I’ve had extensive training in areas of enforcement, legislation and food safety. I’ve also been involved with several local service districts to improve community partnerships with government players.

Previously Employed by

• the Government of Canada for 13 years as an inspection officer with the Dept of Fisheries and Oceans, my responsibilities included enforcement of legislation, development of policy and procedures pertaining to improving the landed value of our oceans resources and assuring the highest level of seafood quality for the consumer.
• the Provincial Government of Newfoundland and Labrador as a Fisheries Field Representative. During this tenure responsibilities included the allocation of monies through grants for the upgrading of infrastructure. Provided mandatory education to industry personnel. Provided valuable input to development of health and safety regulations while a member of the Health and Safety committee. Responsible for the enforcement of adherence to regulations set forth by provincial government legislation.
